On The
North Shore
Of Lake Superior
Duluth, the fourth
largest city in Minnesota, is the seat of St.
Louis County. It is nestled on a 600-foot bluff
overlooking the north shore of Lake Superior. It
is halfway between Minneapolis-Saint Paul and
the U.S-Canadian border, and is served by State
Highway 194, US highways 2 and 53, and
Interstates 35 and 535.
The proximity of Lake Superior modifies local
weather, causing cooler summer temperatures,
warmer winter temperatures and a low frequency
of severe storms. |

excellent charter fishing in the area
from early spring to late fall. Brown,
lake, rainbow and brook trout, coho and
Chinook salmon, walleye and other game
fish are plentiful in the Saint Louis
River and Lake Superior. Not many

guided by one of the abundant and
skillful captains who organize charter
